This video demonstrates the tying of a Lefty's Deceiver. The fly is known throughout the world as one the most fished and productive patterns ever created. This tying basically holds to the original concept as designed by Lefty Kreh, but updated with a bucktail lateral line to add a little extra dimension.

A Corona Virus fishing day in Virginia Beach. The Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend on May 24, 2020, Dave Dembicki and I practices Social distancing with 1000 of our closest neighbors as we fished the Lynhaven river late afternoon into the night. It was a good trip.

Mike Buss and I had a three day fishing extravaganza over the Memorial Day weekend. We fished the Oceanfront at Virginia Beach on Friday for Cobia. Then trekked to Crisfield Maryland to fish Tangier Island and the surrounding area. My first Cobia (not on a fly), thanks to Mike LaHorner for showing me the ropes. A local "Legends of the Fly" fishing tournament was held on October 13, 2018. It was to support "Project Healing Waters". The members of the Virginia Coastal Fly Anglers volunteered a few boats to take out some of the vets for a chance to compete. This is team Croft/Thebaud. A great day on the water and a lot of fun with two great people.

Mike Buss and I braved the calm wind and flat waves to fish the 4th Island of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel for Bluefish. It started off a little slow, but it turned on for a couple hours of good fishing. Fish were not large, but the were feisty in the current. We had some friends join the party.

Lee Owens and I fished with Chris Newsome looking for Cobia. Saw several had a couple follows and "almost" takes, then finally, hooked up. Also caught many Bluefish. Ended up a nice day on the water and learned a lot from Chris.

Chockletts Body Wrap. Unfortunately, if it is still being produced I can't tell you who carries it. Have to use feathers, or game changer brushes

This video is relevant today in designing slammer flies as it was when I was tied in 2012!!!! one more step in search of the holy Grail eventually this practice of weighting flies will become second nature to all saltwater and musky and pike fisherman. Great job Mark can’t wait for any more instructional videos. Hope there’s more to come down the pike, Jim.

Just a question. Why don't you turn the tube instead of turning the vise upside down?
There is no reason you can’t rotate the tube. However, if you have a rotary vise and your fly is anchored, it’s much easier to rotate the vise, like everything, there is no hard and set rule, it’s how I choose to tie it.

The possibilities, whoever figured this out was a genius! That's new to me! I'll have to try and get the rigging accessories. I only just started trying to tie the Clouser... Got lots to learn and practice on my vise.
The fibers that hairline is making this with have a lot of dander flaking metallic stuff that is hard on folks with any lung allergies issues. I would suggest maybe washing/rinsing the fiber before use and wear a mask.
